Amazon Prime begins streaming episodes of Crisis in Six Scenes, Woody Allen's first try at series television. The 80-year-old American actor-director isn't abandoning the medium that made him famous - film: the shooting for his 48th film begins in the Fall.
Allen stars with Miley Cyrus and Elaine May in the TV comedy, which is set in the turbulent times of the 1960s in the United States. The series tells the story of a middle-class suburban family and the visit by a guest who turns their household upside down. Little is known about other plot details, but the Internet is awash with preview clips of the series.
The entertainment publication, IndieWire, reports that Allen's new movie, to be shot in New York, is a period drama set in the 1950s. Pop star Justin Timberlake has joined the cast of the untitled movie, which also stars James Belushi, Juno Temple and Kate Winslet.
