Breaking 150 years of tradition, the move of Wimbledon to a week later than usual creates a three week gap between the French Open and Wimbledon, giving players additional time to recover from Roland Garros and extending the grass court season

• In 2014 Rafael Nadal won the Men's Singles at Roland Garros, but was knocked out of of the fourth round at Wimbledon by Australian Nick Kyrgios, the first No 1 player to be knocked out of a Grand Slam by a player outside the top 100 since 1992. Rolland Garros is played on outdoor clay courts. Wimbledon is played on grass

• The overall prize fund at the All England Club has also been increased by seven percent to £26.7m ($40.89m).
